I drag my poor husband off to Lowe's to talk to the kitchen people. Okay, maybe not the BEST use of our spare bits of time, but, it WAS educational. Fine. I'll keep the cabinets we have and sand the brown off and refinish them myself. But, the countertops HAVE to go. Derek wants to do butcherblock. I'm not so sure...granite has turned out to be cost-prohibitive...plus, with the "rustic" nature of the cabinets, not exactly the best match. In the meantime, there are rooms and rooms of knotty-pine plank flooring to refinish. For example - this is the master bedroom (not our furniture, though...) Nice floors, eh?!
